Jay Howard Curwin, MD

Dr. Jay Curwin is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Curwin provides exceptional and compassionate care for patients of Electrophysiology Associates, a group that is housed at the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center. His expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm conditions. An expert in subspecialty care for cardiac arrhythmias, Dr. Curwin has been named among New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s Top Doctors for eight consecutive years. He has been a member of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service at Morristown Medical Center since 1994, and was director of the hospital’s Pacemaker and Defibrillator Follow-Up Center for more than 15 years. Dr. Curwin is proud to be a member of a team that provides comprehensive, world class medical care for symptoms and conditions that include, among others, palpitations, fainting spells, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular and ventricular tachycardia, and cardiomyopathy, along with the treatment of patients with implanted loop recorders, pacemakers and defibrillators. As a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Curwin has trained with some of the nation’s leading heart specialists during his internship, residency and fellowship in cardiology. He completed additional fellowship training in electrophysiology and pacing at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Curwin has served on the council of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and as a member of several Atlantic Health System’s committees, including the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, and Medical Executive Committees. He has presented his research and abstracts at national conferences and has had publications in peer review journals. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Curwin enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, bicycling, and trying to improve his photography, among other interests.
