Biography:

Dr. Kurt Jaeckle is a neuro-oncologist and co-director of The Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center at Overlook Medical Center's Atlantic Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Jaeckle joined Atlantic Health System in the fall of 2016 from the renowned Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Jaeckle is also Medical Director of Research for the AHS Atlantic Center for Research. He has served as a principle and co-investigator on several national and international Phase I-III clinical therapeutic trials, which have evaluated new chemotherapeutic and novel molecular targeted agents for the treatment of brain tumors. He also has served in educational roles as Director of the Neurooncology Fellowship Program at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and was primarily responsible for generation of the U.S. certification and accreditation process in Neuro-oncology, for the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties.

Dr. Jaeckle received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He completed his internship in Medicine and residency in Neurology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. and a Fellowship in Neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He served on the faculty at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas as Associate Professor, and subsequently at the Mayo Clinic in Florida as Professor of Neurology and Professor of Oncology.

During his free time, Dr. Jaeckle has been a luthier for 14 years, a custom builder of hand-crafted acoustic guitars, and also repairs acoustic and electric instruments.
